Solomon Kotei, the General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU), has sworn into office the newly elected Executive of the HFC Bank Local Union in Accra.

The nine-member Executive is to steer the affairs of the Union and ensure harmony between it (Union) and management.

The members include Mr Emmanuel Mensah, Chairman of the Union, Mr Akwasi Peprah-Odoom, Vice Chairman, Madam Emelia Adomako Ansah, Secretary and Mr Dominic Fiifi Amoah, the Assistant Secretary.

The rest are Mr John Aboagye Doudu, First Trustee, Mr Kwaku Duah, Second Trustee, Mr David Aguda, Executive Member, Madam Mercy Araba  Kerton, Women Representative and Mr Mutia Abdallah as the Youth Representative.

Mr Kotei admonished the Executive to be united and work for the interest and welfare of the workers in a peaceful manner.

He encouraged the members to be abreast of the Bank’s Vision and Mission and engage management on best practices in addressing issues of common interest.

He urged the Executive to always speak the truth to the workers and never promise what they would not be able to deliver to avoid tension and agitation.

Mr Kotei urged members to partner with management to work towards promoting industrial harmony.

Mrs Frances Sallah-Brown, the Head of Human Resource of the Bank, assured the Executive of management’s commitment and support to the Union, saying management would dialogue with the Union before any benefits were implemented.

She expressed management’s commitment to working with the ICU to achieve its strategic objective of being a leading financial institution in the country.

Mr Mensah, the Union Chairman, said the Executive would ensure work and happiness became the order of the day through effective dialogue in addressing issues.

“As a Union, we will ensure that the Bank and its parent company gain attention and an enviable name within the highly competitive industry and make HFC Bank the bank of choice,” he said.

“As Union we will ensure that our staff adhere to the rules and regulations of the Bank and also see to it that all entitlements due staff were given to them without fear or favour,” he added.
