The Institute of ADR Practitioners – Africa (IADRP) has congratulated the Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, following his appointment as a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Task Force working at mediating the ongoing Russia–Ukraine conflict.

In a statement issued in Accra, the Institute described the appointment as “a monumental recognition of Ghana’s growing leadership in global peacebuilding and a proud moment for the Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR) fraternity in Ghana and across Africa.

According to IADRP, Speaker Bagbin’s inclusion on the global mediation team highlights his “distinguished record in dialogue facilitation, mediation, and parliamentary diplomacy,” as qualities that embody the core principles of ADR practice.

The Institute urged the Speaker to be fully committed to the process to achieve a peaceful resolution of the conflict between the two countries, reminding him that his appointment is “not only a personal achievement but also a collective triumph for all advocates of peace, mediation, and constructive dialogue across Africa and the world.”
