The Human Resource Director at Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC, Dr. Hazel Berrad Amuah has been adjudged the best HR practitioner of the year 2019 at the third HR Focus Awards held in Accra.
This is the second time in one year that Dr. Berrad Amuah is being recognized by reputable industry firms for her outstanding contributions aimed at expanding the frontiers of the HR profession in the country.
In February this year, Dr Amuah was crowned the Female HR professional of 2018 for private sector at the Ghana Human Resource Innovation Awards.
The seasoned human resource expert who joined Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC last year, has about 20 years of HR experience gained from her exploits in West and Central Africa, working with some of the world’s biggest multinational brands.
Dr. Hazel has worked in diverse roles at Nestle, British American Tobacco, TICO-CMSI, Old Mutual and DAMCO, where she was the Area Head of HR for West and Central Africa.
She is revered in the HR industry for her great track record of developing talent and helping businesses unleash the potential of their people to deliver results.
Hazel is also a co-author of the newly launched book, CONTEXT: Executing Strategy in a Developing Economy”.
The HR Focus Awards presented out over 27 awards to HR Practitioners and HR Teams across industries in Ghana to recognize and reward HR best practice in Ghana.
Honorary awards were also given to Irene Asare of Tullow Ghana and the Institute of Human Resource Practitioners (IHRMP) for their innovative contributions as individual and institution to HR management and development in Ghana.
