Lower Dixcove chief kidnapped over boundary dispute with Upper Dixcove

The Western Regional Police Command has confirmed the abduction of the Paramount Chief of Lower Dixcove, Nana Kwesi Agyeman IX on Sunday night.

The chief is said to have been abducted by aides of the rival Upper Dixcove chief in relation to a dispute over boundaries.

The captors are said to have forcibly entered Nana Agyeman’s palace by breaking the main gate and held him hostage.

The abductors were also said to have damaged some items at the palace and disrupted electric power supply to the community by destroying the transformer.

This is said to have resulted in a total blackout in the area and thereby enabled them to transport him to the palace of the Upper Dixcove chief.

A police rescue team led by the Western Regional Police Commander, Mr R. Dedjoe managed to take custody of the abducted Paramount Chief later on, reports Graphic Online’s Dotsey Koblah Aklorbortu from Takoradi.
