The feud between Ghanaian top musicians, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale got violent as the two clashed on stage at the VGMAs in Accra at dawn, marring the event.

While some of the team members from the opposing sides traded punches on stage, Stonebwoy pulled a pistol to defend himself as Shatta Wale advanced at him in a rowdy manner.

The commotion, which went viral on social media, started after Stonebwoy was pronounced Raggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year.

While Stonebwoy was on stage with his team to receive his award, Shatta Wale and his gang rowdily advanced onto the stage to ostensibly prevent the presentation of the award to his rival.

The chaotic scene led to the halting of the show, as some patrons walked out of the Dome.

There has been a long standing feud betwen the two artistes with each one labelling himself as the leader of the dancehall genre in Ghana.

The Sunday dawn stage clash is an escalation of the social media banter and verbal attacks between the two for several years, with each of them claiming supremacy.

But for the intervention of the police, 20th VGMA, which was to celebrate Ghanaian music, could have been bloody.
