The management of ADR Daily, Ghana’s only conflict resolution news portal, is set to launch a national ADR Campaign aimed at promoting a mass adoption of Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms in Ghana.

The three-month campaign will involve the holding of ADR outreach events for the various sectors of the economy, including mediation awareness creation for the business community.

It is to educate Ghanaians against the negative effects of court litigation, and the need to adopt ADR which ensures a speedy, inexpensive, confidential and amicable resolution of disputes to protect relationships and promote peaceful co-existence

In addition, the campaign, which is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, would involve seminars, fora and webinars on pertinent issues and the progress and benefits of mediation and ADR in general.

It would be climaxed by the launch of the premier ADR magazine in Africa, and the screening of a documentary on Ghana’s ADR industry.

Mrs Lizzy Ann-Kwagbedzi, Business Manager of ADR Daily indicates that the campaign falls in line with national efforts to expand the frontiers of ADR, particularly mediation in Ghana.

“The campaign would be rolled out in collaboration with a number of key stakeholders,” she said.

Although ADR has achieved good progress in Ghana, she said the raging disputes and conflicts in all sectors, makes it imperative for more awareness creation.

Citing recent disputes in the business and educational sectors, she said most of those disputes that have produced adversarial and devastating outcomes, could have been amicably resolved if the parties had been aware of the benefits of ADR, and adopted mediation or arbitration.

She urged stakeholders in the industry to support the campaign for the benefit of Ghanaians.
