The Ghana ADR Hub, a network of legal practitioners promoting Appropriate Dispute Resolution, has launched a three-day webinar on International Arbitration with the aim of exposing arbitration practitioners, lawyers, ADR, and law students to the nuances in international arbitration
The webinar, which would be conducted from November 24th to 26th, 2021, will among other objectives, introduce participants to the intricacies in the concept and practice of International Arbitration, focusing on Ghana as the seat of arbitration.
The presentation will examine the interplay between the law of the seat and international arbitration conventions and practices.
According to Michael Gyang Owusu, President of Ghana ADR Hub, the virtual seminar will be practice-oriented and is designed to equip participants with practice skills rather than theoretical knowledge.
“Where arbitration concepts are discussed, this will be done to explain how the ideas have a practical effect in arbitration proceedings,” he explained.
Structured into six interactive sessions, the webinar will be characterised by practical drafting exercises spanning the initiation of arbitration proceedings to the enforcement of the award.
