Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra has held its annual Staff Excellence Awards and Gala Night to honour its workers for their contribution towards the progress of the company.
The annual ceremony was used to appreciate the workers who the hotel considers as its competitive advantage in the hospitality industry in Ghana.
A number of the workers, who were adjudged top performers during the year, were awarded for distinguished performance and service.
Mr. Manish Nambiar, General Manager of Kempinski Hotel, addressing the personnel, lauded their creditable work performance which continues to support the hotel in sustaining its high status.
He also thanked them for their collaboration and cooperation with management towards the implementation of business interventions during the year, and expressed confidence that the relationship would continue to be productive.
Management, he said, remained commitment in enhancing the welfare of the staff, and therefore, assured them of more support to enable them to give off their best.
Mrs Barbara K. Amissah, Director of Human Resource, in her welcome address, said the staff excellence awards which was instituted in December 2017, is to “recognise, reward and encourage exceptional guest experience delivery from staff.”
She commended the award winners. and the staff in general, for their dedicated service and hard work in “ensuring that the hotel maintains its enviable position as the only true five star luxury brand in the country.”
Mr Solomon Kotei, General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union, who graced the occasion, commended the workers and management for the peaceful working environment, and urged them to continue to work together for productivity and profitability.
In his remarks, Mr Austin Gamey, labour consultant and CEO of Gamey and Gamey Group, urged the workers and management to intensify their labour-management cooperation (LMC) which was necessary in ensuring successful relations and sustained productivity for the benefit of both sides.
